Placing primitives on the screen by hand can be tedious, hence, you can instead assign a label to a primitive (possibly a different one per slide).
Labeled primitives can be selected with Ctrl+Left Click, then moved with the mouse and scaled with the mouse wheel. While you drag, light-blue guides appear and snap the primitive's edges and center to the other primitives of the slide, so you can align elements precisely. A selected primitive can also be centered horizontally by pressing H and vertically by pressing V.
Several primitives can also be moved as a group: toggle them in and out of the selection with Ctrl+Shift+Left Click (they highlight without moving), then drag with the left button to translate them all, preserving their relative spacing. A short click clears the selection.
Dragged positions are kept only for the current session until you save them: press Ctrl+S to write them to disk so they are restored on the next run. If you try to quit (Esc) with unsaved placements, Slope asks for confirmation first.

Warning
Labels must be unique, if you set the same label to another primitive, they will share the same position (can be useful to replace a primitive by another one).
A name for a new item
Coming up with fresh names for all primitives can be hard. Press N and slope copies a free name to the
clipboard, to paste as the at: or id: of your next item.
It is never a label the deck already uses, nor the name of one of its items.
While writing a deck, --auto-suggest copies one
on every save, so a free name is in the clipboard when you add the next item:
In that case the whole at: moset line is copied.
